We stopped at noon Wednesday and eleven Thursday and only lost about a hundred despite the fact that Friday night was more than a little worse than the weatherman predicted by us. Very glad the Tornado that just ripped through here missed the farm and pens! My three man crew moved out 9,000 birds between Wednesday and Thursday. They were picking short perimeter posts to jump onto, walk down the top of divison fences, chew holes and get in. We were finding hair around the holes but we were guessing a cat. After taking a closer look at the canine teeth marks in some of the dead and finding good tracks it was decided it was fox we were after. All has been well for a week now. Some how these two figured out how to get in from above. They were picking short perimeter posts to jump onto, walk down the top of divison fences, chew holes and get in. A gentleman by the name of Gary Schultz came up with the idea a few years ago. The tubing keeps the netting from snagging on the tractor.
